Feeling Like Selling A Car and Everything Along With It
Have you ever felt like selling your car? Or everything you own, for that matter? I sometimes hear a Dave Ramsey call on Facebook, and I immediately feel compelled to get everything on Facebook Marketplace. But then I wouldn’t have a car to drive to work. So I stop myself from doing that crazy, impulsive thing.
In fact, I did this very thing a few years ago. I took our minivan and put it up for sale on the marketplace. It was a 2006 Toyota Sienna, and I had never sold a car before. I had a mutual friend with a gal I knew on Facebook, and they wanted to test-drive it. I said yes, and that was the biggest mistake ever. They took me across the bridge in our local town and told me all the things wrong with it. I started to say I couldn’t go any lower than $ 3,000 because I had put some serious money into it. They then said they wouldn’t pay more than $800. I said I didn’t want to sell, and they pulled us straight to a Wells Fargo.
They asked how much I would take for it, and I stupidly said 1000—still one of the craziest days of my life. We then had to pay for a new minivan over the past 3 years. I don’t think I will ever do that again, and writing this out has helped convince me not to put my car up for sale.
Good luck, everyone, with your new year, and don’t make impulsive decisions as I did. Thanks for reading.
